Online registration for this race will be available NOW through JANUARY 13TH, 2023.
We strongly encourage online registration as this race fills fast! We cap this event at 300 runners.
The 13.1 mile race starts at 9:30AM and 6.5 mile race starts at 9:45AM.
Day-of race registration will be available AS LONG AS THERE ARE OPEN SPOTS, but registration fees will increase!
PACIFIC MULTISPORTS will be providing chip timing for both distances.
Important Race Information
Welcome to the 45th Annual Lake Samish Runs. This year’s race will take place on Sunday January 15th, 2023. The 13.1 mile race starts at 9:30 AM & the 6.5 mile race will start at 9:45AM.
Online Registration for this event is now open & closes January 13th, 2023 at 11:59 PM. This race is limited to 300 participants. This event is chip timed (gun start & chip finish).
Both races are run on roads with very little elevation gain. The 6.5 mile race is one loop around Lake Samish and the 13.1 mile race is two loops plus a short dog-leg (to make it a true half marathon!).
PLEASE do not sign up for this race unless you are SURE you will be running it. If you register for this event and do not show, you take a spot away from someone else who may want to take part. We understand there are emergency circumstances, and in this case, please email the race director and let them know so we can give your spot to someone else! Thank you 🙂
Participants will park at the Lake Samish Park & Ride OR near the Shell station at N. Lake Samish (I-5 Exit 246) where Baker Bus will bring participants to the Lake Samish Lodge. Parking for this race is LIMITED so we ask that participants carpool.
We will have GBRC merchandise for sale the day of the race, Cash or Check ONLY!
PLEASE NOTE THESE IMPORTANT RACE DETAILS TO REMEMBER:
We love having WALKERS at this event, but there will be NO early start times for walkers & the course closes after 3 hours. Please plan accordingly
Absolutely NO DOGS are allowed on the race coarse!
In order to keep our race safe and enjoyable for all participants, we have a few safety requests:
Feel free to listen to anything you please through ONE ear bud during the race, allowing the other ear to hear other runners, traffic, and race information.
Runners with baby joggers must start at the back of the pack, and give wide birth when passing other runners.
There are NO Dogs allowed on the course.
Wearing bright colors or lights to help you be seen by motorists is encouraged.

- Day-of registration if available: Registration fee above + $5.00 (Cash and check only!)
Prizes for the overall women/men, masters (40 and over) women/men, and kids (12 and under) girl/boy winners in each race, will be awarded in addition to ribbons for age group winners placing 1-4.
**** GBRC is unable to refund registration fees if you are unable to attend the race. GBRC is unable to refund registration fees if the race is cancelled due to weather, road or air conditions, or other unforeseen situations. GBRC is a NON-PROFIT organization run by volunteers****
Race chips, bib numbers and apparel purchases will all take place at the Lake Samish Lodge the day of the event. There is NO early packet pick up. The lodge will open at 8:00 AM the day of race.
Due to limited parking at Lake Samish Park, carpooling is strongly advised. All parking spaces at the Lake Samish Lodge are for volunteers. All runners will be directed to park at the Lake Samish Park and Ride and the North Lake Samish Shell Station. Parking officials will greet you once you arrive from the Interstate and will direct you to the designated parking areas. Baker Bus will be picking runners up and bringing them to the Lake Samish Lodge, where runners will pick up their chips and bibs, and begin the race. Baker Bus will begin at 8:00 and will start return trips after the races at 10:45.
Food and Beverage
Water and electrolyte beverage will be provided on the course.
Yummy post-race refreshments and awards in a warm, dry environment!
