Race Information
Lake Samish Runs 2022 will be offered in a virtual format on the course located at Lake Samish, Bellingham, WA. Runners can run either the 6.5mile (1 lap) or Half Marathon (2 laps) any time from January 1st to January 16th and upload their results to Webscorer. This provides three full weekends in the New Year to run the Lake Samish course along with the unusual opportunity to choose a weather window that suits you. Please be aware that in the month of January, it is not uncommon to see patches of frost, ice, and or snow along the road.
Online registration for this race will be available Sunday December 12, 2021 until Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Timing Information
Registration for the Lake Samish Runs 2022 is available through Webscorer using the link below. Your time will need to be recorded on Webscorer and will be based on the honor system. Note: A Webscorer account is required to log your results; this is a different account than your GBRC.net account. Also, if you are using Strava to record your time please log the elapsed time and not the moving time.
The race will be FREE to both GBRC members and non-members. Registration can be accessed by clicking the button below.
Race Etiquette
In order to keep our race safe and enjoyable for all participants, we have a few safety requests. This course is on an open road in a mostly residential area so please stay to one side of the road and yield the driving lane to passing vehicles. If using ipod/phone/other noise makers, please remove one ear bud. Wearing bright colors or lights to help you be seen by motorists is recommended.
Parking Information
For the first time in many years, we are recommending you park at Lake Samish Park for 2022. Please note, the (indoor) restrooms are NOT open at the Lake Samish Lodge at this time, there is however a portable restroom in the parking lot, so plan accordingly.
