Location: WECU meeting room.
Visitor Presentations: Fall race proposals: Ed and Kathleen Harri will direct a 12K trail race at Lake Padden on Sunday, Nov. 2. The event, the Padden Mudfest, will be an annual addition to our run calendar. A phone consensus of the board, prior to our scheduled meeting, approved the race for this year.
Kevin Ryan will direct a "Turkey Trot" on the Saturday before Thanksgiving beginning in 2004. The race will be approximately 4 miles with a 1-mile kid’s run. A turkey give-away, food drive, and a grocery store involvement are ideas to pursue.
The location has not yet been decided.
Other new races: The Port of Bellingham, in conjunction with Fitness Alliance (Dave Adamson), is planning a fitness festival with a run for early April. They would like GBRC to be involved. More information will be coming.
Treasurer's Report: Gale distributed copies of our financial report through June 30. Superfeet and TransOcean donated money for our help with the Chuckanut Footrace.
Membership: Alta reported 621 members and 412 newsletters as of Sept. 03. In Sept. 02 there were 552 members and 376 newsletters.
Website: Rick proposed changing our web hosting to iPower. The cost is less and has more features such as database support and some automatic use statistics to get a snapshot of web-hits. We authorized not more than $150 to pay for 1 year of hosting from iPower. Our current web host account, Halfprice Hosting, is paid through Jan 7, 04.
