President: Polly Favinger

E-Mail:pollyart@comcast.net
Phone: 733-5554
I love running, especially trail running and Bellingham is a great place for that! I have done most of the GBRC races at one time or another. The community of runners and active people in this area make it a truly special place. Active volunteers and enthusiastic ideas are what make a club great so send me a message and get involved. A club is as strong and creative as its members!

Permits and Equipment Coordinator: Alison Allen

Alison Allen E-Mail:alisonallen@frontier.com
Phone: 360 599-2587
Alison has completed 41 marathons. She now enjoys running on trails and in the woods. She hopes to experience some challenging ultras in the future. She keeps track of the GBRC equipment and co-directs the Race Beneath the Sun.

Newsletter: Cheryl Batty

Cheryl Batty E-Mail:sailwoman62@yahoo.com
Cheryl started running cross country and track back in high school. She has continued running since then and runs half marathons, marathons and ultras. She loves being outdoors and participates in many other sports and activities. Her two dogs love trail running and mountain biking with her. She volunteers at many of the local races and works as a physical therapist.

Race Director Liaison: Tjalling Ypma

Tjalling Ypma Phone:(360) 734-2616 (H) 650-3785 (W)
E-Mail:tjalling.ypma@wwu.edu

Tjalling is notable primarily for his masochistic streak, which prompts him to serve on various boards and race in triathlons. The unpleasant business of swimming, biking and running, which necessitate the even more unpleasant business of training, lead this professional mathematician to spend most of his leisure hours trying to quantify suffering.

At-Large: Len Parine

Phone: 360 647-5703
With almost 40 years of competitive running under his belt, Len is making the transition from high participant/low supporter to low participant/high supporter very comfortably. This is Len's 6th year with GBRC and 4th year on its board. Having been previously involved with many good running clubs, it's a pleasure to say that this group is as invigorating and unselfish as any. Between the wonderful members and beautiful surroundings, it doesn't get much better.

At-Large: Molly Hayes

E-Mail:4_hayes@comcast.net
I developed a love for running about 20 years ago, but became passionate about it after moving to Bellingham in 1996. I have a particular fondness for running on the many beautiful trails we have here in Bellingham and have done numerous races, from 5k's to 50k's, and everything in between. Running helps me balance my busy life as a parent, wife and teacher. It has also given me the opportunity to meet some incredible people who have become some of my closest friends. If you haven't noticed, runners are some of the most supportive people you could have in your life. Whether you are at the front or the back of the pack, your running friends will be cheering beside you all the way.

At-Large: Rick Hill

Rick Hill E-Mail:info@gbrc.net
Rick has been a Bellingham resident for many years, and a committed runner since completing his first race; a 2 mile Jingle Bell run in 1996. He likes racing most distances but particulary likes trail runs. (How else can you see so much beautiful terrain in such a short time?)
Rick is currently transitioning out of the GBRC website maintenance work.

At-Large: Jason Gulley

Originally from Bennington VT, where I met Laura.
Attended University of Vermont for physical therapy, where I became interested in Long distance running (due to Laura).
Have lived and worked in Bellingham since 2005.
Have been a GBRC member since 2006.
Favorite GBRC race: all of them.
Favorite distance to run: 5K
Favorite distance to train for: marathon
Hobbies: Cycling, traveling, and running (obviously).

At-Large: Cami Grichel

Cami only recently started running in the last few years. In fact, she never did any sports before college. When she started a mile was out of the question, but this past October she completed her first half marathon! Cami enjoys the variety of terrain Bellingham and it's nearby areas provide; you may see her on the roads, trails or even the track. She looks forward to becoming even more involved with Bellingham's running community through volunteering with GBRC.
